Graphic Designer (Remote or Hybrid)

Middle of Six is a women-owned marketing firm focused on the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. We bring proven expertise to professional services marketing and are passionate about providing exceptional, strategic work to our clients to help them build their businesses.

We are looking for a graphic designer to add depth and enthusiasm to our growing team. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional graphic design skills, confidence in presenting and communicating creative ideas, proven attention to detail and project organization, and an energetic, flexible work style. A passion for AEC marketing in a deadline-driven, team-centered environment with the hustle and heart required to deliver success is key.

The primary focus of the graphic designer is developing strong visual communications to support our clients’ marketing efforts. 
Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and/or following brand guidelines and creating unique visual assets for a variety of clients

  • Developing graphics for client qualifications, proposals, and presentations

  • Developing content for websites, brochures, infographics, case studies, blogs, and other marketing vehicles

  • Ensuring document quality via proofreading and consistent use of company standards

  • Supporting the coordination/preparation for marketing-related functions such as meetings, conventions/trade shows, special events, industry activities, and campaigns, including virtual participation

  • Supporting the team in maintaining a social media presence


  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design preferred or Communications, Marketing, or equivalent field of study

  • Minimum four years’ professional experience in graphic design and visual communication

  • Minimum two years’ experience in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry

  • Proficiency using marketing and presentation software, including Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop at a minimum), Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and OneNote), and social media/web platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, Wix, WordPress, etc.)

  • Strong graphic design and print production skills

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in both a remote and in-person team environment, meet deadlines, and efficiently prioritize work while adapting to our clients’ working styles

  • Ability to accept feedback on, and make changes to, creative work

  • Occasional travel to client offices and to Tacoma for Middle of Six company meetings and events

Building a great team is our top priority and we take a thoughtful approach to evaluating candidates. Typically, our interview process takes two months to complete. We will keep all candidates informed on our progress and on our ultimate hiring decision.    

Our interview process is as follows:

  • Resumes and work samples are reviewed as they are received

  • Candidates that pass the resume review will receive a 30-minute phone screen to learn about your skills and salary expectations

  • Candidates that pass the phone screen will move forward to an MS Teams virtual video interview to dig deeper into their skills and approach, and for Middle of Six to describe our work and client mix 

  • Candidates who move forward after the virtual interview will be invited to participate in an interactive work session with the Middle of Six team to assess working and communication style

  • Reference checks are completed

  • Employment offer is made
