Now seeking a Proposal Manager to join our team
Middle of Six is a small but savvy team of marketing professionals focused on the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. We bring decades of expertise and a fresh perspective to professional services marketing, and we are passionate about providing strategic, well-executed solutions that help our clients win more work. Our main office is located in Tacoma, Washington with team members established throughout the Pacific Northwest and West Coast. The proposal manager role can be based in the Tacoma office or in a remote location.
About the Role
The ideal candidate possesses competitive spirit, excellent writing and communication skills, creativity, keen attention to detail, stellar organization and time management, and an energetic and flexible work style. A passion for AEC marketing in a deadline-driven, team-centered environment with the hustle required to deliver success is key.
The primary focus of the proposal manager is working directly with clients and the internal Middle of Six team to coordinate the development and production of high-quality, competitive, and timely proposal responses.
Manage the full life cycle of the proposal response process from initial review and strategy, to finalization, production, and submittal
Research, strategize, and develop content to effectively satisfy RFP requirements and promote the expertise of clients
Lead client meetings virtually or in client offices to provide leadership to their internal teams
Presentation of proposal work to clients to gain feedback
Develop and produce marketing materials, qualifications, proposals, and presentations including content development and graphics
Persuasive writing and key message development
Proofread and edit technical information, client submitted materials, and online content
Meet proposal deadlines through proper management of priorities, target dates, and asset/document procurement
Provide interview coaching, strategy, and graphics
Execute additional research and special projects, as needed
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, Graphic Design, or similar
Minimum of five years’ experience in the AEC industry
Strong writing and editing skills with a passion for proposal development and winning work
Experience reviewing Requests for Proposals (RFPs), determining proposal requirements, preparing proposal drafts, coordinating with stakeholders to obtain and review materials, and preparing final responses
Experience with design and visual communication
Proficiency using marketing and presentation software, including Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop), and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote)
Proven ability to work collaboratively in both a remote and in-person team environment, meet deadlines, and efficiently prioritize work while adapting to our clients’ work styles
Ability to accept feedback on, and make changes to, creative work

About the Interview Process
Our goal is to hire someone in Q2 2021. Our interview process is as follows:
Resumes and work samples are reviewed as they are received
Candidates that pass the resume review will receive a 30-minute phone screen to learn about your skills and salary expectations
Candidates that pass the phone screen will move forward to a Teams virtual video interview to learn about your skills and approaches, and for Middle of Six to describe our work and client mix
Candidates who move forward after the virtual interview will be invited to participate in a work session with the Middle of Six team
We will keep all candidates informed on our progress and on our ultimate hiring decision
